Ultimate 5-a-side: TEAM 3

Khan: The scariest man in football? Perhaps. Khan would make an extremely intimidating opponent, especially in a 5-a-side goal. Look at him.. look at his face. He's hard to beat, let's move on.

Puyol: A great ambassador for football through out his career for club and country. Puyol plays the game properly. He is technically good and has a great understanding of the game, particularly from a defensive point of view. This team can rely on Puyol to break up the play and then get it moving again.

Pirlo: The calmest man in football. Pirlo pulls the strings like he is plucking a harp. If the movement is there Pirlo will find the pass. He is another intelligent footballer in all aspects of his game his defensive work is solid and his game management is as on point as you can get. Not got a bad shot on him either.

Messi: Messi can be lazy, which could be detrimental but to be honest I am just trying to think of a weakness for him. He is arguably the greatest player to ever play the game. Much of his game is suited to 5-a-side (maybe his lobs wouldn't work though) he has the Barcelona defensive philosophy distilled in him and is quite simply capable of controlling or winning a match, perhaps more so than any other player.

Rooney: Rooney is an all-rounder in this team it suggest he would be the main attacker but that would likely be Messi. Rooney won't let anything go. He is not the best player in the world but has always mixed with the best and always stepped up when it has been required. A fantastic shooter, a dogged defender and underrated created. Rooney would be one to watch here.

Strengths: Possession. Finishing. Composure.

Weakness: No real weakness.

Although I see no real weakness in this team, This does not mean that I think they are the best. I mean, they may well be the best but their strengths maybe not be as strong as those around them. There is an argument to say pace could be their weakness but I certainly don't think it would be enough of an issue to cause them problems, particular since they have Messi who I think is probable the fastest player over 10 metres in the world. This team has a strong blend of speed, composure, creativity and strength. I imagine that Rooney, Pirlo & Puyol will do the had work while Messi takes the reigns in attack. That's not to say Messi won't defend, if you try to go round him you will often fail. He is lazy sometimes when he runs into traffic and ball is already lost. The more I look at this team, the better I think it will be. In Rooney they have the most defensive attacker and that could be the difference. As opposed to finding easy to win this is the type of team that will be hard to beat.
