Now Manchester United are at it. That is a strong 22 though.

Take a look at the predicted line ups for Manchester United. All the top teams needed a defensive commanding midfielder and the two most viable options got bought by Manchester United pretty much on the same day. 

This is great business for United and is a big statement for the season to come. They may need defenders but with Carrick, Schneiderlin and Schweinsteigger in front of them, they will certainly have a better defended goal this season.

So they have found themselves with a second team similar to possible Manchester City line ups and these are still assuming that De Gea goes. In this case this is actually their players. So arguably they have too many and they still need another striker. To be honest I imagine Evans will go and maybe Valencia too. Januzaj will possibly move on as well. The place in which they have too many players is now in midfield. They have made two big purchases and it could be seen as a bunch of panic buys but I don't see it that way.

I think the idea will be too gently lift Carrick out of the team. He is 34 and while arguably United's best player they will look to replace him as his injuries become more frequent. Between the three players you would like to believe one will be fit and can go alongside Hererra who does deserve to be in the first 11 really (although they should look to play two defensive midfielders if they are fit). However, sometimes the season doesn't always go that way and perhaps they will all be sitting on the medical table at the same time. It's risky buying two injury prone players although they are not injury prone in the same league as Andy Carrol or Abou Diaby.

The point is here, United's second 11 is strong. It's front four is not the most powerful but each of those players have had good spells in the Premier League. Both defences need work and ultimately united's failure to address that so far could be their undoing. That being said, United have stated their intent. It's now time to find out if they can deliver.
